Flying Max to his forever home

We recently volunteered for a Pilots N Paws® flight with the American Pointer Rescue Association to transport 3-month-old Max from Miamisburg, Ohio, to Evansville, Indiana.

A little background...Pilots N Paws is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on rescuing, sheltering, and adopting animals, and volunteer pilots and plane owners willing to assist with animal transportation. The intent of Pilots N Paws is to provide an environment in which volunteers can come together and arrange or schedule rescue flights, overnight foster care or shelter, and all other related activities.

We try to pick up one of these flights whenever possible. My husband, the pilot, coordinates logistics with the sending/receiving parties. For this flight we met up with Max's foster mother in Ohio. Max was a great passenger, and like most dogs... slept the entire fight.

His new family was elated to see him when we landed in Evansville. It was a pleasure to deliver this little guy to such a fantastic new life.
