First Pilots N Paws Flight Complete

Melissa

This past weekend we completed our first flight with Pilots N Paws. We flew these four sweet dogs from Clark County, Indiana to Holland, Michigan on their Freedom Flight to a rescue organization. Three of them were seniors and a couple of them were quite fragile... but they all did well on the flight.

We have been wanting to volunteer for Pilots N Paws for some time. Now that we've done our first flight we are hooked! This non-profit organization connects those who rescue, shelter, and adopt animals with volunteer pilots who donate their time to transport the animals in need. In this case, from Louisville Metro Animal Services to Animal Placement Bureau in Michigan who were taking each dog to a new foster home.

We are so happy to have played a small part in getting these sweet souls to their next step in finding forever homes.

Looking forward to our next adventure. 🐾

About Us

So, we bought a plane just before the COVID 19 pandemic began here in the United States.

Great timing, right?

The silver lining; the plane has created more opportunities for us than we could have ever imagined.

We are two empty nesters with four grown children living all over the United States. Even though we each have two full time careers we are intentionally making time for travel, and for each other. We are based in Southern Indiana. Although much of our travel is to the cities where our children live we also make time for other trips as able.

This blog is a way for us to share our travels and to also archive our journeys; at last.
