Pilots N Paws Trip: Asheville, NC to Jackson, OH

Though terribly hot, the air was smooth for moving 13 kittens and a dog from southern Georgia to northern Ohio (the kittens) and to Michigan. It took several pilots, and volunteers on the ground, to make this happen, and did I mention it was HOT?! It leaves everyone involved feeling good at the end of the day! Thanks to Signature Aviation at Asheville, North Carolina’s airport, for the discounted fuel and services, and to the wonderful airport manager (Don Lewis) at James Rhodes Airport in Jackson, OH, for the help and discounted fuel.

So, we bought a plane just before the COVID 19 pandemic began here in the United States.

Great timing, right?

The silver lining; the plane has created more opportunities for us than we could have ever imagined.

We are two empty nesters with four grown children living all over the United States. Even though we each have two full time careers we are intentionally making time for travel, and for each other. We are based in Southern Indiana. Although much of our travel is to the cities where our children live we also make time for other trips as able.

This blog is a way for us to share our travels and to also archive our journeys; at last.
